Nothing can cheer me up other than modding and hacking. I guess that my hobby after all. Given appropriate time and tools, I can work wonders… I guess, at least. Erm, should I flash Android ROM to my HTC HD2 or should I soft-mod my xbox360 elite… tough huh!

Talking about rooting and flashing winmo to android or android to android, I’m a bit annoyed when people just talk about something they didn’t know very well. I went to KL and met my friend, she/he said “oh is that iPhone4 (read: iSuck)?” And when they knew my phone is HTC HD2, they start talking about android rom development, rooting and flashing without knowing the basis. How come they know something that they didn’t recognize it at all, come-lah iPhone4 pun tatau nak beza HTC HD2, macam mana korang boleh tahu pasal rooting and flashing? Get a life, stop “spamming”. All you have to know are;

1.       ROM, user interface and MMI are different between winmo and android

2.       The device itself tak sama

3.       Chefs (Dutty, Miri and Elegance)

4.       Kitchen

5.       Cooked, Baked, Half-cooked/baked

6.       Kernel, Radio ROM, TMOUS, Asian and WWE

7.       Rooting (sbb install kat C:\ sbb tu panggil rooting, durh!)

8.       Backward capability

9.       Flashing cooked ROM, porting (android), HSPL3 and Driver Signature

10.   Beta ROM and RTC. Things tak working due to half cooked kernel

Pioneer to this project is my xbox360 elite. I stumbled to the dry wall when I updated my xbox dashboard and firmware thru xbox live. I can’t play latest pirated dvd games, but still can play the old ones. I found out that wave 4 thingy that have been implied by micro$oft restricted xbox dvd drive to read properly.

What is the different between old games and new games? There are 2 main differences with these games. The first difference is that they come with the recent “New Xbox Xperience” dash loaded directly onto the disk. If you were one of those people who hated the new Avatars so much that you refused to update your 360 (and thus still have the “old” blade interface), your time is up. All future games will REQUIRE this update and won’t run without it, starting with these releases.

The second difference is related to this, it’s to do with the “video partition”. This has changed for the 3rd time and is nothing to get alarmed about. Video Partition? When you put a 360 disk into a regular DVD player, a video plays telling you that you were dumb and put a 360 disk into a DVD player instead of an Xbox 360. This is what the “video partition” is. When the 360 first came out, all disks used the exact same video partition, then after a certain time, a different one was used. These are referred to as “wave 1″ and “wave 2″. If you rip an older game and scan it, you’ll see it matches “known data, wave 1″ and likewise, newer games will match known data for Wave 2. This looks to be a 3^rd&4^th wave and, if true, is nothing to get upset about.

How to flash?

You need:

1.       Check your dvd drive, whether it’s BenQ, Hitachi, Philips or etc..

2.       Jungleflasher

3.       DosFlash

4.       Correct iextreme fw for your xbox dvd drive, able to play online without being detected by M$!

5.       Disable Driver Enforcement in Win7/WinV

6.       Hotmail account for xbox live!

7.       Oh, small Philips screwdriver for poke-ing and torx10 (or maybe torx8 for ripping up your xbox!)
